Special SES callsigns for JOTA 2017
In recognition of 60 years of Jamboree on the Air, Ofcom have granted JOTA 2017 special SES status and we may use callsigns with the digits “60" in place of the usual single digit.
Apply for a SSES NoV in the normal way and make it clear that your application is under the JOTA arrangements. Note that (as usual) the callsign will be issued subject to availability. Ofcom are keen to weed out applications for SSES NoVs from those who do not qualify, so those who have had JOTA NoVs in the
past might consider simply changing the digit part of the callsign that they have used before.
For example, we have used GB4YOU for Youlbury campsite for many years so I will be applying for GB60YOU this year.
Update Sept 17
It appears that the on-line system for SES callsign applications does not accept SSES requests. So please download the form OFW287 and apply on paper in the old way.
